I’ve had a pet peeve about garlic presses for years. You know how it works. You shove as many cloves 1/2 as you can fit into its very small cubicle, flip the handle over and try to smash them ALL through a multitude of very small holes. Then you’re put out when there’s a layer of skin and pulp stuck in the holes that requires another tool (a fingernail most often) to scrape that gunk out because you don’t want to waste any of it. Some models come with little rubber pusher shaped to fit the holes and push aforementioned gunk, but I don’t know anyone who has ever held onto it after its first use. Now we have the Garlic Twist. First of all, you can fit about 6/8 cloves of garlic in it thus it saves lots of time. Next, it’s way easier to twist than press. Third, after twisting 2/3 times, one half reverse twist pushes ALL that lovely, crushed garlic to the center where it falls right into your bowl with a gentle tap. No waste! Of course, it’s dishwasher safe. Doesn’t this sound better than fingernails full of smelly gunk?
